The results are negative. The cancer
hasn't spread. PTL.
Next step... a hormone treatment shot
(Lupron) to reduce the prostate and to give me
some time to make a decision.
Dr. Kasraeian
does a radical retropubic prostatectomy. That
means he would cut me open from the front. He would remove the prostate,
seminal vesicles and pelvic lymph nodes. Recovery time would be 3-4 weeks. He
suggested 6 weeks. From what I've read it would be 3-5 days in the hospital.
He didn't pressure me into the
surgery and mentioned radiation as a possibility. So, the shot will give me
some time to investigate that.
The good news today is that it hasn't
spread. There was one small little spot on my rib cage. But, they decided it
wasn't cancer. I've read that if you break or injure bones or something then
they can see that with the scans as well.
Thanks for the prayers.
